I constantly receive emails from students who, even after completing much of their program, say that they are unaware of administrative matters that need to be dealt with, such as filing the Application for Admission to Candidacy for a degree or the Proposed Plan of Study for a certificate or how or when to apply for graduation. Checklists are provided to students when they first enter their programs and further guidance is provided on our website, but it is obvious that students aren’t taking the time to inform themselves of requirements. So, here are links to the bare minimum of resources that you need to review now and to which you should refer when action is needed. Use your Google calendar as an aid to provide a reminder of when things need to be done:
1) Steps to Graduation – this particular link condenses the administrative requirements and milestones and makes staying on course particularly easy. Other webpages on the Department website provide details.
2) Academic Advisement Report – this report, accessed through your Student Center, provides a current view of what you have accomplished as well as what remains in the area of coursework as well as the requirements to submit critical documents at specific milestones.
If you pay attention to just this minimal list of resources, your program will advance more smoothly and there is much less likelihood of there being any rude shocks as you approach graduation. Please let me know of any questions that you have once you have reviewed these two resources.
Oh, by the way...please read your Moodle announcements!
I admit I am one of those students that emailed you early in January! I volunteered to write the email, but there were several of us that were wondering about the next steps. I really think it would be prudent, and less stressful on your department and on the students, if there were maybe an automatic email that was generated once a student registered for the Edtech 592 class. I appreciate the help I received from you and completed the paperwork required for graduation.
I recently contacted the book store to find out about purchasing my cap and gown. The person who answered knew little about it, but said to call back in April. Most of the people I know that are graduating in May from other universities, have already ordered their caps and gowns. I haven't received anything regarding how to purchase mine.
By the way, I read all of the Moodle announcements! ;)

You can purchase regalia here: http://www.boisestatebooks.com/graduation.asp. You can order online and pick it up on campus or you can have it shipped to you.
Thank you, Dixie! That was quick and easy. Now, I have everything I need...
