Job Title: Director of Workforce Learning Development

 

Job Summary:

University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks a Director for Workforce Learning Development (DWLD), responsible for the leadership, coordination and development of new programs and emerging credentials tailored to meet the needs of our corporate and government partners. Reporting to the VP for the Learner & Faculty Experience, the DWLD is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and development of non-credit programs, certificates, or any form of credit or non-credit credentials identified by a corporate or government partner. In support of this focus, the DWLD will lead cross-functional teams comprised of labor force research specialists, collegiate faculty, subject matter experts, and corporate and government partners in order to develop the latest in-demand credentials focused on employer needs.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Partners with Corporate Learning Solutions to identify prospective new credit or non-credit opportunities

Coordinates research and design support for all new offerings using online, face-to-face, and hybrid delivery modalities as requested by partners

Engages with potential partners to gain a deep understanding of their business and training needs using established needs assessment approaches.”

Converts research and expertise into meaningful customer-centered training models or academic programs

Works with a team of designers and technologists to create, develop, and deliver new programs and credentials corporate and government partners

Develops evaluation process to improve programs

 

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning in a relevant discipline and at least five (5) years of experience at either a) the director level in a higher education institution, or unit within (e.g., continuing education, instructional technology, training & development, curriculum design, or non-credit program administration), that serves the adult or non-traditional learner. OR b) a position at the director level or above within a corporate or government entity’s Learning or Training and Development unit.
