Job Summary:

Indiana State University invites applications for a tenure track position in education technology at the assistant professor rank. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching both traditional and on-line courses at the graduate level. Candidates must also show commitment to and potential for publishing top quality research in the field. Candidates who possess teaching or training experience in educational settings will be given special consideration. A successful candidate will be prepared to lead the continued development of a graduate educational technology program. Responsibilities of this position include teaching master’s and doctoral level courses in educational technology along with courses in learning theory, educational research, and curriculum theory and development that are offered across the department’s graduate programs. Coursework focuses on the effective use of technology in various teaching and learning contexts. All graduate courses in educational technology are moving online. Student advisement, scholarly research and publishing, and university and community service are also important components of the position and essential for retention, tenure, and promotion.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate or ABD completion by August 1, 2017. Primary responsibilities involve teaching and research in educational technology at the graduate level. Teaching classes to distance students via the Indiana State Online program will be required. Faculty members are expected to maintain a productive research program and support the university strategic focus on community engagement, experiential learning, and inclusive excellence. Service at the college, university, and community engagement levels commensurate with rank and experience is also expected. Teaching over the summer is optional and additionally compensated.
