Uplift Michigan is seeking Full and Part Time Online Teachers for the following areas:
Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and K-5 Multi-Subject

– Complete all grading, create progress reports and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner
– Provide meaningful and actionable feedback on student work
– Communicate regularly, and in a professional manner, with students, parents, and colleagues using a range of mediums (phone, email, IM, we conference, video conference, etc) and build positive working relationships with each
– Support the instructional program with both asynchronous and synchronous instruction using a variety of communication and technology tools
– Monitor student course progress and mastery of standards and devise alternate approaches, when necessary, to presenting lessons to increase student understanding (working directly with students and parents)
– Use data gathered in formative classroom assessments and summative assessments to drive instruction.
– Provide the highest level of customer service to student and their families
– Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are engaged in their courses and successfully progressing through the program
– Develop a general knowledge of the broader school and its instructional program and a very detailed knowledge of the courses for which you are responsible
– Support students and parents with alternate strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects;
– Keep student records and data up-to-date, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging all student and parent contacts;
– Work with other teachers to coordinate social activities and relevant field trips for students;
– Manage regional field trips and make efforts to integrate trips into the curriculum;
– Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”;
– Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing, as directed;
– Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation;
– Other duties as assigned.
– Strong technology skills in programs like – Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, Web Conferencing Systems, Web 2.0 tools

Certified and highly qualified (in the relevant content area) to teach in Michigan
Ability to work 12 months out of the year
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Customer service oriented
High degree of flexibility
Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
Team player track record
Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
Ability to work remotely
Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families
