Minimum Qualifications:
Secondary single subject-specific credential (English)
Subject-specific Master’s Degree that meets the Minimum Qualifications for California Community College instruction
Experience and/or emphasis/interest in technology related to delivery of instruction in an online learning management system environment
Experience as an instructional leader

The Independent Studies Online Instructor will work with students in a blended, online, asynchronous environment, providing a personalized learning in a competency-based setting. They will develop and deliver online curricula and assessments that align with district and state standards. The program will run through a Learning Management System (LMS) incorporating digital technology that will support the course structure and curriculum. Working collaboratively with colleagues, they will develop educational practices and norms that support our partners at the comprehensive sites.

Further, the Instructor will work under the requirements of a dual-enrollment agreement with our community college partners. Agreement will require extra preparation and training to meet community college standards, particularly for online instruction. The instructor will be expected to meet with community college colleagues to align expectations of course and curriculum.

The instructor will also be a Subject Specialist with the expectation that they will lead, support and help develop instructional and grading practices throughout the district.

The instructor will be expected to work in a self-directed, independent environment that will require flexibility in hours as well as performing duties as assigned. Ability to responsibly and professionally manage paperwork required in an independent studies, dual enrollment and online environment will be a must in this position.
