I would like to unsubscribe from this forum, because I am no longer taking this class and I don't like seeing so many emails daily that don't apply to me. I have tried unsubscribing individually as well as the "unsubscribe from all" button, but this one remains as a "forced subscription." How do I remove this?
Believe me as a member of the class of 2018 when I say the day will come when you'll be glad you have the ED TECH news. This is where all of the data on deadlines, graduation info and the like is communicated with online courses.
If you want to make things easier create a folder for the specific class and let course info transfer to that folder. ED TECH News is not attached to a single course it is available to all students regardless of course(s) taken within the ED TECH. I would say that it is an area were you will not have permission rights to cancel.
Good afternoon Rachael,
Hey, Samantha, I believe I changed your settings so you should not be receiving daily emails and also unsubscribed you from forums. If you are still receiving emails, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will remove you from the site.
I have the same problem. I have tried to change my Moodle settings multiple times in an effort to stop the emails, and yet they continue. I haven't been in an EDTECH class for over a year and EDTECH was not my program of study, so the emails are irrelevant and really clog up my inbox. Dr. Schroeder, can you remove me from the site as well? Thanks in advance.
By the way, the easy way to deal with emails like this is to use a gmail filter to automatically archive the incoming emails. It happens at the server level so you'll never see them again. Just filter on "subject includes" name of course.
Edit - Looks like Ben Fisher beat me to the punch on this tip. I second Ben's advice.
Can I unsubscribe from all the "unsubscribe" emails? These are more annoying than anything coming from Moodle.
Hi I would love if you could unsubscribe me as well- I have already graduated and see no use for these emails at this point. -Thank You!
If you need to unsubscribe, you can actually change your forum digest preferences. At the bottom of this email you will see a link to change forum preferences. If you follow it and are logged in to moodle, you can then click unsubscribe from all forums, it should fix your problem.
Moodle Support and ED TECH News have forced subscriptions for some reason. I would also like to be unsubscribed from both.
There are several ways to unsubscribe. You first need to access your preferences and find this list of options:
You will have a couple of options here. The first is to block all notifications:
If you wish to tailor your notifications you can do so individually. I am including a shot of the top bar (email notifications are the center portion) and the section for forums (so you can see the options for turning off notifications for the forums specifically).
I hope this helps with the confusion!
