DESCRIPTION: This course includes a brief review of

principles of language acquisition theory, an exploration of

the features of academic language using the WIDA ELD

standards framework in order to plan language targets, and

fundamentals of instructional and assessment design for

linguistic differentiation.

• Appropriate for PreK-12 classroom teachers, graduate

students and university faculty addressing the needs of

ELLs and native English speakers learning language

through content. Some familiarity with the WIDA

framework is helpful, but not required.

• On-line course with opportunities for peer interaction;

Fees: ED-LLC 497 Undergraduate: $305 + 30 (online fee)

ED-LLC 597 Graduate $390 + 30 (online fee)

If not currently a Boise State student, application fee for a non-degree seeking student is

$50 for undergraduate and $65 for a graduate student. Deadline is May 15th.
