Job Description:
As a critical member of the Distance Learning Team, the Instructional Designer collaborates with and advises faculty in development and revision for online, blended and web-enhanced courses, modules and instructional assets. Will consult with faculty in the design of appropriate online instructional strategies to ensure alignment of assets and assessments with course learning outcomes, monitors course development progress and course delivery and assists with problem-solving.

The Instructional Designer reports to the Senior Instructional Designer and works in tandem with other Instructional Designers and Distance Learning Team staff in the Division of Extended Learning, Campus Technology Services, and Penfield Library to ensure a seamless and comprehensive support model for faculty and students engaged in online and hybrid course development and delivery.

Additionally, will conduct workshops and assist faculty individually and in groups for course design and management, promoting best practices in online teaching and learning, and remain current with emerging technologies, new products methodologies, and pedagogy. The Instructional Designer will also communicate, design and implement training resources to enhance Oswego's technology-based learning initiatives. Duties also include engagement in professional networks on campus, within SUNY and nationally. This is a full-time position based in Oswego NY with some regional travel and evening/ weekend work as required

In addition, will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
