Position Summary
The Center for Educational Innovation is seeking to fill multiple Learning Designer positions. Learning Designers have the opportunity to directly support university faculty, teaching assistants and staff in the design, development and continuous improvement of existing and new instructional content. The center candidate will:

• engage with groups and individuals to assess learning design and delivery needs (online, on-campus, blended) intended for delivery via multiple credentialing pathways (non-credit, credit)
• review and revise existing content and develop new content to deliver at on-site customized workshops
• share best practices via online templates and workshops to contribute to a continuous improvement model for faculty

Evidence of strong presentation and instructional skills in both group and one-on-one settings are of the highest priorities for this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, communication, education, media design or related field and experience in course design.
Demonstrated success in the following areas:
• Organization & Project Management: overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, reaching goals
• Content Development: utilizing recognized design models (backwards, addie, assure, etc.) create and continuously improve faculty development programs focused on pedagogy, assessment, learning strategies, instructional technology, student learning outcomes, and emerging areas of faculty development as related to innovative teaching and learning
• Content Delivery & Engagement: develop content and actively engage audience in dynamic interactive workshops delivered in group and one-on-one settings in online, blended, and on-campus formats.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in instructional design, communication, education, media design or related field.
Evidence supporting expertise and/or experience in one or more of the areas should be highlighted in the cover letter:
• STEM Education: Learning Design experience that specifically supports instruction for engineering and science based professional communities.
• Modular Design: Use of video and other instructional assets (e.g. OER) to create “stackable” content to support a variety of learning objectives: continuing education, massive online teaching, micro-credentialing, etc.
• Pedagogical Innovation: Evidence of workshops/presentations/content delivered on emerging or innovative pedagogy.
• Video Storytelling: Skilled in content editing and scripting for instructional video production, proficiency in multimedia software (e.g. video recording/editing)
• Software Development: development of learning tools that enable unique or novel approaches to instruction.
• Expertise with Microcredentials: Expertise in re-engineering instructional content for support of microcredentials that can serve to “onboard” learners to expanded educational opportunities.
