Today, Wednesday, August 1, we will launch the new University Homepage. This is a crucial first step so that other university sites can begin to migrate to the new design and system.
During the launch period it can take time for everyone to access the new homepage. For example, you may notice that the new homepage loads while you're at work, but the old homepage loads when you're at home. Or perhaps you are still seeing the old homepage, but your friend in another state can see the new homepage already. This is due to a process called propagation. The propagation process must be completed for the changes to be recognized throughout the internet, and can happen within a few minutes, or up to 36 hours.
As we work to migrate sites into the new system we will have both the old site "Framewerk" and new site "Panels" site running concurrently. This means that as you navigate boisestate.edu you will see Framewerk pages and Panels pages until all university sites are finally moved into the new Panels site. Due to the number of Boise State sites, (such as Educational Technology) we expect the entire migration process to take about a year.
For more information about the project including the proposed migration schedule see the Redesign Projects page on Webguide.
