The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), Alaska’s largest university with 20,000 students in over 100 degree programs, invites applications for the position of Instructional Designer 3 within Academic Innovations & eLearning (AI&e).  AI&e assists faculty as they incorporate instructional technology, creates materials for online delivery and works closely with faculty and administrators throughout the institution to promote the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.

As part of the instructional design team, the Instructional Designer will consult and work one-on-one with faculty and other instructional designers to design and develop learning solutions, determine appropriate course assessments, and conduct research into the best practices in e-learning.  The successful candidate will also work closely with a team to provide professional development for faculty and develop institutional eLearning capacity at all campuses of UAA.

We are actively seeking diverse and  highly qualified applicants to fill two positions:
  • Generalist: Generalist focuses on instructional design and faculty professional development.

  • Accessibility Specialist: Accessibility instructional designer will focus on process, tools, policy, and training on accessible online or technology-enhanced instruction. Experience in this area is desirable but not definitive; training will be provided to an experienced, competent instructional designer. Strong commitment to accessibility is a must.
