FTP Access: Home directory inaccessible
by Matt Uhrich - Sunday, June 17, 2012, 10:04 AM

When trying to access the FTP server, I cannot connect through Dreamweaver. I have quadruple checked my username/password by testing it on BroncoWeb and copy/pasting it from notepad.

When I attempt to login to edtech2.boisestate.edu using FileZilla (a free FTP manager), I receive the following error: "530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible."

I tried a bad password, just to see what the response would be, and it said, "530 User cannot log in."

So, because I get a different response when I use a good password vs. a bad one, I know the username/password are good. Yet, there does not seem to be a directory for me on the FTP server.

Any ideas? Please help...

Hi Matt, Thank you for the feedback. Access to the Edtech2 server requires account verification. Your account it's being verified.

Thank you much for the rapid response. I am good to go now. The sign in worked right away this morning at first try.
