Does anyone know if a program or app is capable of sending out an assignment then collecting it automatically after a specified amount of time?
For instance, I would send out an assignment today at 1:00. The student has 48 hours to complete it. After 48 hours, it automatically gets sent back to me, completed or not.
If you can help, I would really appreciate it.
Could you post in Moodle, set the due date for 48 hours and not allow late submissions?
Please let me know if you find something that does this. I think it could be done using an RIA...
You could create the assignment using the Socrative teacher app. Leave the classroom open for a specified amount of time. Students can use the Socrative student app to do the assignment. Then close the classroom and send yourself a report with student responses- completed or not.
It seems the key to your question lies in the operative "collect." I'm guessing you want to be able to cut off student access to the document at the due date? Maybe Google Docs holds an easy solution. The whole class has the link to an open doc or spreadsheet on which to place answers. At the cutoff time, the teacher takes back the privacy element of the document, effectively cutting off sharing. Would this work? -- Kristin Morris
Interesting question. I would be interested in the answer.
