I'm working on a project and I need some ideas how to use quizzes creatively in an online classroom. It doesn't have to be only for assessment. For example, somebody uses the T/F question to ask students if they are on track or if they completed a task. How do you use online quiz tools? Do you know about a book or online resource on this topic? I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you!
Polldaddy is probably similar to Poll Everywhere, but it offers a connected service to Wordpress, in case you want to embed quizzes into a blog. I eventually had to stop using it as a graded assessment because students were either writing fake names or other student's names.
Thanks for your suggestions, but I probably didn't write my question clearly enough. I don't need any tool for making online quizzes, but IDEAS how to use those tool. For example, one of my professors used a T/F questions at the end of each module as a self-check. There was just a statement: "I completed all the work in this module." I wanted to know if you have such ideas for use of the quiz tools, other then for regular assessment. I tried to google it, but I probably don't use the correct words because I couldn't find anything.
I think that you may want to identify what you want to know, then create the assessment. For example, do you want to gage understanding? or assignment completion? or gather information for future study? etc.
Also, what age is your audience? Asking a room full of 13 year olds to self-assess by stating whether they completed the assignment or reading might not retrieve accurate results.
I also think that your topic will also guide your questions.
But first, what information are you trying to assess?
thanks so much! This is exactly what I was looking for! If you know any resource where I would find more such activities, I would really appreciate that.
