Attention Dear Instructors,
Over the past week, VoiceThread has been working to make sure that your data remains secure in light of the Heartbleed vulnerability. All of the necessary updates were made to our system by early Thursday, and all active sessions were terminated today.
What this means for your users
Everyone has been signed out and will need to sign into VoiceThread again. This ensures that everyone has a new, secure VoiceThread session.
If your VoiceThread license is integrated (through Google Apps, your learning management system, LDAP/Active Directory, etc.), you don’t need to change anything. If you create your members’ accounts manually, however, this means that they have VoiceThread passwords, and we recommend that these be changed. Individuals can change their passwords by following these steps:
- Sign into VoiceThread.
- Click on the email address in the top-right corner of the page.
- Select “My Account” from the menu.
- Click “Change” next to the current password.
- Enter a new password and confirm.
Anyone who has forgotten a password can reset it at http://voicethread.com/reset.
