I enrolled in the EdTech 551 Technical and Grant Writing course last Spring with Dr. Cathy Morton. I just wanted to give you a heads up about some of the projects I was working on during that class.
I wrote for three grants during the class. The first was denied because I didn't read the fine print. (always read the fine print!) The second was a success. I received a $5000 S.T.E.M. grant entitled "Modeling History" that got our school a 3D printer.
As for the third, I just found out that my 551 project was awarded as well. This was a $30K technology upgrade grant from Steele-Reese Foundation. We will be purchasing laptop for students and staff while upgrading our servers and network.
Thank you Boise State and Dr. Morton for providing a great educational experience for not only myself but indirectly, for an entire community.
Wow! That's fantastic! Congratulations, and thank you for sharing this testament to the kind of quality instruction one receives as a BSU Ed Tech student.
Although I haven't taken the grant writing class myself, I agree that the quality of instruction here provides truly authentic opportunities for direct application of learning. I recently obtained a new job that I wouldn't have even qualified for two years ago. As I keep telling anyone who asks, this M.E.T. program gets results!!
Hope you and your students have tons o' fun with all that new technology!
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story. I begin the 551 course next Monday and I dream of obtaining grants to help our school and district. Great job! You should be extremely proud of yourself. Thanks for sparking my excitement for this semester.
That's great, Kevin! Congratulations!
Awesome Kevin!! Thanks for posting this. I'd like to post this on our social sites. Is that ok with you?
