After graduating from BSU with my MET, I have realized some of the deficiencies of our district, and I now have the time to try to get some changes started. The first is the lack of some kind of Technology integration specialist or technology coach or however it can be titled. I have found many different names for the this position in my state. I am trying to find some research that show or suggests that having a person in this position helps improve effective technology use in school and any other factors. We have a very varied population in terms of technology use and technology fluency, and we have started implementing a 1:1 program. I feel adding this position would help greatly in help facilitate effective technology use in our district.I know in my studies that I had happened upon some of these studies. I was wondering if someone could put me on the right track to finding some useful articles on the topic.
Thank you in advance or any responses.
Thank you Shannon for your reply.
My name is Nichole Allmann and I am the Technology and Learning Coach at our school. Each school in our district has a TLC and we have 5 Technology Integration specialist that work in our district. I have included the link to district staff and our 1TWO1 implementation process. Feel free to contact me in you would like to discuss things in more detail. We may be able to help you with some research.
Thank you very much for this information. Unfortunately, I just found out that our school has only received one state aid payment this year and is unsure of how many they will receive. So, I am going to cool my jets. Apparenly, the state is behind approximately $850,000 for our school alone. I will keep the email and contact you later if our states political mess gets figured out.
Ok, best wishes with everything. Hope it progresses in the right direction.
