EDTECH 597: Autonomous Robotics for Teaching and Learning
Instructor: Dr. Baek (email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
Description: This course introduces methods for integrating robotics technologies into K-12 classroom settings. Participants build and program an educational robot. Basic concepts about robotics will be introduced. Participants discuss about ways of using robotics to learn different subjects such as math, physics, science, and computer programming. This course provides hands-on experience by assembling robot models and by programming robots. Video production skill is needed. A web site for keeping learning journal throughout the course is required.
Syllabus: A copy of the syllabus is attached to this message in Moodle.
Is there a chance this course could be offered in Summer 2016?
Sorry, but at this time we don't have plans to offer the course in the summer 2016 session.
This course looks amazing and I would like to take this spring. In the course outline it mentioned under hardware that you may rent a kit. Is this something the school will be offering or do we need to find a place on our own? The kit is about 600 dollars for the preferred model. Do you know if there will be any problems buying the Lego Mindstorm EV3 kit which is half the price? I don't want to commit to a class if I can't afford the hardware. Loving the idea of this class and really hope to take it.
Thank you for your interest in the EDTECH 597 Special Topics (Autonomous Robotics). I will tailor all assignments and projects to your hardware. There is one place you can rent one, www.sheldenrobotics.com.
Young Baek, the Instructor
Yes, it should be acceptable. I visited the website and found it is good. Make sure you have your sensors.
Thanks for your interest.
